On Wednesday, June 21 this just-built amphitheater on the shores of Richfield Lake will celebrate its new life with family-friendly music, dancing, food trucks and art events from 5pm-8pm. The centerpiece of the new amphitheater is a 280-foot-long mosaic-mural created by Greta McLain with help from over 100 Richfield community members. From 5pm to 7pm attendees can groove to the music of The Modern Era, the 25 member Twin Cities Trumpet Ensemble and Brian Laidlaw and the Family Trade. In the final hour take in the wondrous music and movement of the Vietnamese Lion Dancing troupe, Hung Vuong Association. Be one of the first to experience this beautiful lakeside performance space. Food trucks by El Jibarito and Sandy’s Grill and Italian Ice. Art activities provided by The Crosstown Collective. Event MC’d by Richfield resident Maia Maiden, host of ROOTED: Hip Hop Choreographers Evening at Intermedia Arts.
On four more Wednesdays in July and August, the Richfield Lake Amphitheater will continue the inaugural momentum with local bands and food trucks from 7-8pm.
