I trust that the Cornerstone Group is going to bring “aesthetics, social offerings, and openness” with this new venture. I speak for a lot of neighbor’s in the ‘Windom Corner’ (the name we gave the little neighborhood between Bachmann’s and Peter’s Billiards) when I say we’re looking forward to see the plans for the former Lyndale Garden Center site realized.

Comment on Net-Zero Energy: The Future of Sustainable Buildings by Lorraine http://www.tcgmn.com/blog/2011/11/nze-the-future-of-sustainable-buildings/comment-page-1/#comment-813 Sat, 13 Jul 2013 02:16:00 +0000 http://www.tcgmn.com/?p=924#comment-813 Hi, I am working with a young man who has a 501C organization . He has an awesome business plan to go into existing homes and help them become Net Zero Homes. He looks over the home, and then finds funding, loans etc to help the homeowner pay for the Solar panels, tankless got water heater etc.

He is looking for Grant money and Angel investors. If you have any ideas where I could start looking for that kind of information, I would greatly appreciate it. I can be reached at LStoweConsulting@gmail.com.

A significant amount of these gardens could really create some good change.

Comment on A sense of place: spaces designed for people by Mitchelene Hatembo http://www.tcgmn.com/blog/2012/05/a-sense-of-place-designing-for-people/comment-page-1/#comment-658 Fri, 25 May 2012 16:18:31 +0000 http://www.tcgmn.com/?p=1157#comment-658 I am impressed. If the opinion of the public is considered, urban design can become appropriate for the people it was meant for in the first place. Public participation should be encouraged even during the town planning pre-submission. However the publlic should be educated to note that partipation in terms of development should not be used as a tool for segregation but it is a mechanism to enhance and approprately direct development.
