On Sunday residents from Cedarview Commons visited Orchestra Hall for a performance by the Morehouse College Glee Club. This internationally recognized all-male chorus wowed a full concert hall with gospel, jazz and contemporary choral works. Morehouse performed for over an hour by themselves, then, in collaboration with the VocalEssence Chorus and hundreds of high school singers from throughout the metro area, they serenaded this audience into the night. Among the 15 Cedarview Commons residents to attend the concert only a handful had been to Orchestra Hall before, and none had seen the Morehouse College glee club. “I am so glad my kids were here to see this,” said one resident. This concert was part of the Cedarview UnCommons Arts Festival that will be running through June 18.
