By now, you should know about all of our recent urban ag efforts, like KP Edible Gardens and are constantly reading about permaculture design and even guerilla farming. A few days ago we started checking out the Greenaid system, like the idea, and could see it working well at KP. The Greenaid folks have wanted to explore opportunities to work with the development community, and think there’s a lot of potential here.
Our conversation started, with an email from Danny, Greenaid’s designer. He helped us wrap our heads around the whole idea and how it may compliment our efforts. In addition to being an amenity for the property and an interesting conversation piece, Greenaid machines are capable of paying for themselves in about 6 months and can become great fund raising tools (capable of generating around 1-2K per year, EACH). They offer additional machines at a 20 percent discount.
Greenaid designers will work with us to determine a seed mix that is appropriate for our community/ climate and supply us with as many seedbombs as we need in the future.
